![]() "Hungry Hummers" Even though insects are their main source of food, these two Ruby-throated hummingbirds are in their glory amongst the Passion Flower (lower left), Honeysuckle (top left) Trumpet Creeper (top) and the Goldenrod (lower right). Cardinal Hill Hospital held a successful sold out fund-raiser in Kentucky using 300 signed and numbered Hungry Hummer prints. |

| Eagle and Osprey II For an eagle to take a yellow perch fish from an Osprey not too long ago was very rare. In the lower U.S. Bald Eagles were found primarily in Florida and only rarely in perch waters farther north. |

Cats Of all the mammals I know, cats are my favorite. Seclusive and powerful predators. Their stalking ability stands second to none. Because they are so seclusive they've been my greatest challenge to work in the field. I'm sure glad the kittens keep the female in one place for a while! |

| WILD TURKEY The wild turkey was my fathers favorite bird and this was painted with much heart and recollection. My Dad could gobble in tom turkeys by voice at any time of the year. The tom turkeys may appear lopsided but tom turkeys strut in their courtship proudly vying for the hens attention. This naturally raises one side as one foot is elevated, just a little point I noticed in my field work. To view the original painting which is available for sale click here. |

| CARDINAL PRIDE Because of its popularity, color and song, the cardinal is the official state bird of seven states. I find it requested more for me to paint than any other bird, I think I've got it down by now. |

Eagle Portrait of a Symbol Our national bird. I call it "Portrait of a Symbol" because I wanted to express the symbolic thrust of our country, pride, dignity and ready to go. |

| Shrewd Move Screech Owls do not "screech". I've always wondered why it was given that name. Actually the voice is more of a soft, descending "whinny". I first heard it called the "shivering owl" as a boy in West Virginia. The little owl (only 10") is hatched either gray or reddish in color. Issue Price

Wildcat I take the most pride as a field naturalist in working cats in the backcountry - they are difficult to keep centered because they are so alert. This print was made from the original painting I did especially for my son Hap. Price $150.00 Edition Size 500 Image size

BALD EAGLE I have been commissioned to paint our national bird and the Cardinal more often than any other bird. I have spent many hours working Bald Eagles from a bird blind. My very first Bald Eagle painting was commissioned for President J.F. Kennedy in 1962. Prints from that painting were released in 1963 essentially starting my career. Youngsters Set of 4 Prints $135.00 |
|||
| This set of four “YOUNGSTER” prints may be purchased as a set or individually. They measure 8 ˝” x 11” each and are PERSONALLY SIGNED, high quality OPEN EDITION (NOT numbered) prints. This series is not part of Ray’s Limited Edition Print Collection. One of the great things about this series (besides making you grin every time you look at any one of them) is that they fit in standard off the shelf frames. Since Ray only sketches from life in the field at active dens and nests he sees an awful lot of youngsters and he has sketched several of them over the years. | |||
